Turbines are getting so big and overpowering as to be outrageous in any rural context. Their impacts on the landscapes and lives of people is totally disproportionate to the minuscule contribution they make in providing renewable energy and the pitiful savings they offer in CO2 reductions. With a little less than a month to go until we find out if Scottish Power are going to go ahead with their proposal to build a wind farm, Chilla-against-Turbines have written a letter to Scottish Power to tell them some reasons why we don't want it in our valley.
We would really appreciate everyone sending Scottish Power a letter to back up our letter. You can give individual reasons why you don't want the turbines or you can simply say that your are writing to back our letter up. The letter is attached and we will publish it on our website shortly. |
